I was a digger, now I am banned. Why you may wonder… that is what I wonder as well. The support staff at Digg.com has provided no specific incident or infraction against the http://digg.com/tou they have quoted as a vague and generic reason for the ban. I have been a digg user openly as myself, not an assumed identity, not a false identity, just me, Mich De L’Orme, with the username MichDe . I was a member of the digg community for just over three months. I emailed the digg support staff... Read Full Story
My timing was bad, the first article I was going to get popular and to the front page ended up getting me banned. I linked my article to DIGGBOSS API (checkfriends - http://checkfriends.appspot.com/script ) that allows you ONLY share an article to users who have not dugg the article. From what I understand this uses the Digg API and shouldn’t be labeled a “script” but I was banned anyway, along with a lot of users who followed my post (Please Stop Reshouting Me - http://www.thejimgaudet.com... One of the best parts about my job is that I get to talk to a lot of the top users over at Digg. This is important because the Digg algorithm is always in a constant state of tweak (a statement that can be construed properly several different ways). It changes as fast as, if not faster than, Google and other search engines. Two questions always pop up with either me asking top users or other users asking me:
“What does it take to get to the front page?”
The answer has two parts: time... Read Full Story
It seems that Digg is being a little hard on the Beaver. The banned count is nearing the century mark with no end in sight. While it is fair to ban those who have broken the rules, the tough part to swallow is the fact that most if not all of the recently dismissed seem to be in a permanent state of oblivion. Digg really needs to consider some aspects of their site and their users before giving no second chances to the majority who have been banned.
In short, this is a plea to Digg... Read Full Story
It is well known that some sites do better than others on Digg. Whether it is because of their current base of readers helping to propel their stories to the front page or simply because the submitters who hit the sites are generally strong, some sites will hit the front page often. Some of them hit almost every time.
Here are some of these sites that get plenty of “Digg love” but that are also hated by many.

They are considered as one of the funniest, raunchiest humor sites... Read Full Story
A recent reply by Reg “Zaibatsu” Saddler on Social News Central sparked a lot of interest in the social media world. There were invitations for interviews, mentions of revolts, consoling words, outrage, and the occasional basher all throughout the comments.
Digg buried the story.
Fast.
After a questionable pair of submissions from a questionable site, Zaibatsu was banned. It seems to be happening a lot lately. Still, he sent in a request for reinstatement that was polite and... Read Full Story
