Another Tale of a Digger Scorned

My timing was bad, the first article I was going to get popular and to the front page ended up getting me banned. I linked my article to DIGGBOSS API (checkfriends - http://checkfriends.appspot.com/script) that allows you ONLY share an article to users who have not dugg the article. From what I understand this uses the Digg API and shouldn’t be labeled a “script” but I was banned anyway, along with a lot of users who followed my post (Please Stop Reshouting Me - http://www.thejimgaudet.com/blog/archives/207).

I can’t believe that they would just ban people and not give them a good reason. I read the “TOS”, it is the most vague thing I have ever read. This allows them to do what they want and refer to a piece of shit, non explanatory Terms of Service, that we have to say yes to.

If getting to the front page wasn’t so damn good for your traffic (Matt Cutts had his server go down because of 4,000+ Diggs), and AdSense account, everyone wouldn’t keep creating new accounts and trying again.

If we all move to Mixx and build the traffic, we can finally be rid of Digg. I just hope we don’t get a bunch of people who are blindly clicking the vote button and not actually visiting the site… That happens way to often on Digg.
