Is Tinsley Mortimer the New Lauren Conrad?

If you read certain reports, Olivia Palermo’s old arch enemy Tinsley Mortimer, is the new Lauren Conrad.  She’s filming a new reality show for the CW called Empire State.

She was spotted at an event to benefit cancer charity City of Hope last week at Marquee, camera crew in tow.

“She showed up with 20 people. The crew shot her walking into the venue, but not inside the party as promised,” says City Of Hope’s Jocelyn Levy. “They just hung out and drank, for free, even the producers. We didn’t ask them to come, they called us.”

The comparison of Tinsley and Lauren didn’t stop at a reality show. “[They] both enjoy pampering themselves, checking out the latest at Fashion Week, and partying at all the right places.”

To this list, we can also add that they’re both blonde, and have some connection to Olivia Palermo.  But their lives diverge on so many levels.  Tinsley is an older divorcee.  She started out as a socialite before she became famous, while Lauren was famous then started socialiting. And even then, Lauren didn’t thrive on the spotlight, but was more reserved.

But it seems whenever there’s a new reality show featuring someone with even one similarity to Lauren, there’s an insta-comparisons.  We guess Lauren is the face of reality TV; she has set the standard.
