Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini was due to have wrist and pelvic surgery on Friday after being involved in a motorbike crash. The 36-year-old Italian hit a car on Thursday while driving through Walthamstow, east London, fracturing both his wrists and damaging his pelvis. Ambulance staff described the injuries as "life-changing" and the former Chelsea star is under the care of specialists at a private hospital. Tottenham's head of medical services Wayne Diesel told the official club website: "We have leading specialists looking after Carlo and once surgery is complete and his recovery is under way, we will have a clearer idea of how many ... We scored more than the number of fingers closed! Ok I cannot help but be biased about this game. My heart is still beating like a drum 10mins after full-time. Let’s face it, this is a one sided game. The scoreline will not reflect it as a game of football. Coming into the match, I had no idea which Wigan side would appear. Would it be the one that was organized and committed who gave Chelsea their first loss of the season, or would it be the Wigan side that lost to Hull and Portsmouth? As the first half ended, Spurs were in control ... Read Full Story

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is optimistic that misfit midfielder David Bentley may have turned the corner at White Hart Lane after inspiring his team to victory over Everton in the fourth round of the League Cup. The former Blackburn star created the first of Spurs' goals in a 2-0 win on Tuesday which heaps more pressure on disgruntled Toffees manager David Moyes, who refused to turn up to the post-match press conference. "His (Bentley) attitude in training has not been as good as it could have been, I've told him and he accepts it, but I thought he was fantastic here," Redknapp said of ... Read Full Story

Troubled Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko could be forced to leave the Premier League club in search of more regular first-team football, his agent said Thursday. The Russia forward failed to impress in the 2-0 League Cup win over Everton on Tuesday having been handed a rare start. Agent Oleg Artemov said in the Sun: "His poor performance recently is not due to a lack of match practice but psychological problems. "Of course, not getting into the starting line-up, sitting on the bench is not good for any player. "But Roman is much more affected by the feeling that the manager doesn't trust him and ... TOTTENHAM did just once what they managed to do nine times against Wigan but there are different routes to satisfaction in football. All the ingredients were here for Spurs to squander the momentum that result engendered.

There was just the one goal compared to the 10 that had rained down at White Hart Lane but Wigan will be grateful for that.As Sir Alex Ferguson is wont to point out, it is not the defeat that is important but the way a side reacts and the 9-1 massacre by Tottenham that left the Wigan manager, Roberto Martínez, "ashamed and extremely hurt" took some reacting to. Aside from a questionable period early in the second half, Wigan did it admirably...
