I am a broke college kid that is trading his way to financial freedom. I don't have much capital or an Ivy league education, but I have a dream of on day waking up and being able to trade as a full time trader. Watch and add your comments as I have taken out a $2550 student loan on my quest to beat the markets.

Incredible Interview!!!

If you haven't heard the new interview at traderinterviews.com, you need to check it out immediately. The interview is with a former hedge fund manager who has been in the industry for over 25 years, he writes daily on his blog at upsidetrader.blogspot.com. In his interview there were a coouple of key things he touched on that really hit home:
-"You should never try to press yourself or your trade to try and catch up." That is my problem, if I lose one day, the next day I try and make it all back up and more and I end up losing more, it is a continuos cycle.
-"Cut losses and make them very tight if you want to live to fight another day."
Case in point: my three biggest losses that have destroyed my portfolio could all have been prevented if I cut my losses and not HOPE that they are going to rebound. He said something like, If you cut you losses on a stock then Oh well, there are thirty other stocks out there that you can play.
Anyways, you should check out that interview, it will only help with improving your trading.
