I grew up in the Hague and spent a lot of time as a result exploring Holland and Amsterdam particularly. I was amazed how much I missed Amsterdam when I went back there with friends for a weekend break recently. I forgot how much there was to see and how much I had missed the character of the place, in particular the canals, the food market and the great restaurants.
