For the next month, Andre Johnson will be watching practice from the sidelines during the Houston Texans OTAs. Johnson will be sidelined after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last Thursday. Johnson was present at the OTAs Monday, and the team expects him ready for training camps. The NFL has ruled that Texans defensive tackle Travis Johnson will NOT be fined by the league after taunting Dolphins QB Trent Green after he knocked him out with a knee to the head. The QB suffered a severe concussion after he went low to block Johnson, and the DE flipped over on the hit. Johnson got up, but Green stayed down, and that’s when he taunted Green as he felt the QB was trying to injure him on the play. Houston Texans receiver Jacoby Jones became the latest Texan in trouble with the law on Sunday. The Texans’ second round draft pick from 2007 was arrested on Chartres near Gray around 2 a.m. Sunday morning for driving while intoxicated. Although the Houston Police Department said they did not know what suspicion caused his original arrest, HPD Sgt. John Chomiak said, “it was basically a DWI investigation. The Houston Chronicle says that Andre Johnson could be fined for the fight the Texans and Titans were in last week: When the NFL watches tape of the Texans’ sideline fight with the Titans, players from both teams could be fined, including Andre Johnson and cornerback Cortland Finnegan. “I think the thing kind of got going when Andre and Finnegan were going at it,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “They go at it every time we play. The Houston Chronicle talks today about the eventual return of DT Travis Johnson: An hour after practice Monday, defensive tackle Travis Johnson was still on the practice field. Johnson is getting close to returning after surgery to repair a sports hernia. “He’s upping his work this week,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “He’s working with (assistant head coach/defensive line) Bill (Kollar).
