On June 7, 2003, Trevor was found dead in his home in Los Angeles, California. He apparently died from a drug overdose of heroin, cocaine and the prescription drugs Valium and Vicodin. Although he was often cast in Australian roles he was actually English. This truth was revealed by Goddard's father at his son's funeral, something that not only shocked the entertainment industry, but also shocked his fans. Goddard apparently attempted to tap into the Hollywood demand for Australian actors by disguising his thick London accent with an Australian one. He was so successful that he was accepted by the Australian entertainment industry as one of its own. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
