Updated: September 14, 2009, 17:55 VANCOUVER, British Columbia(AP) Former Vancouver Canucks captain Trevor Linden has been asked to run a leg during the Olympic torch relay. Linden says he doesn't yet know what leg he'll be running during the cross-country trip leading to the Winter Games. The relay begins Oct. 30 in Victoria and will cover about 28,000 miles around Canada. The relay will stop in every province and territory during its 106-day journey before the Olympics begin in Vancouver and Whistler in February. Other athletes to carry the torch include NBA star Steve Nash from Victoria and golfer Stephen Ames. Read Full Story

From Canucks.com : The Vancouver Canucks announced today that they will host ‘Trevor Linden Night’ at General Motors Place on December 17th when they play the Edmonton Oilers. The night dedicated to the longtime Captain of the Canucks will be highlighted by a pre-game ceremony where Linden’s number 16 will be retired.
