Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is inactive for their game against the Miami Dolphins. Polamalu practiced in a limited role this week for the first time in seven weeks. He has missed 11 full games and most of two others with a pair of left knee injuries. He hasn't played since Nov. 15 against Cincinnati because of a sprained posterior cruciate ligament.  

Steelers safety Troy Polamalu will not play Sunday against the Dolphins, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, and DE Brett Keisel will have his injured neck evaluated before kickoff.  

As reported on ESPN 1250 in Pittsburgh, Dick LeBeau will be returning to the Steelers in 2010. There was much speculation over the last few weeks concerning LeBeau. Some reports stated that he would be leaving to join Bill Cowher, if Cowher were to take a head coaching job somewhere. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks coach Ken Anderson is retiring. Anderson initially contemplated retiring last summer, then told coach Mike Tomlin following the Steelers' season-ending 30-24 victory Sunday in Miami that he was leaving. Anderson was an NFL player or coach for 33 seasons and is one of 25 semifinalists this year for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  

Offensive line coach Larry Zierlein has been fired, the first Steelers assistant coach to lose his job since coach Mike Tomlin was hired in 2007. Zierlein was supposed to meet with some of his linemen on Wednesday, only to be told he was being replaced. He was seen leaving the Steelers' offices with several large boxes.
