It was founded in 1945 at the signing of the United Nations Charter by 51 countries, replacing the League of Nations founded in 1919.

* Every day, almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes
* One person dies every 3.6 seconds from hunger.
* One in five people in developing countries are chronically 
undernourished
In this age of wealth and abundance, there is plenty of food to go around. So why, then, are people still starving? Much of it comes down to bad policies, set on the global, regional, and local levels, and corporate greed. Enough is enough. It’s time for change.
