Singer Hikaru Utada, 26, wrote on her blog Tuesday that she is suffering from a bout of tonsillitis and apologized for canceling in-store events scheduled for this week in the U.S. Her blog update – titled "To my fans in America!" – said she has come down with a severe form of tonsillitis and that it happens to her once a twice a year when she is really tired. She said she had been mostly in bed for the past week, visiting a hospital daily to receive intravenous medication. Hikaru Utada's newest album, "This Is The One", will finally see a CD release in the United States on May 12. To promote and celebrate the release, Utada has teamed up with MySpace Karaoke for a special contest. Using the MySpace Karaoke service, contestants can submit a recording of themselves singing Utada's "Come Back to Me".
