After receiving a recommended article link in our email last night RBO decided that the Obama admin’s choice of Kevin Jennings — founder of GLSEN — as “Safe Schools Czar” was just as fair game as was “Green Jobs Czar” Van Jones and “Regulatory Czar” Cass Sunstein and “Media PC Czar” Mark Lloyd. (Getty Images) Boy does Van Jones have a knack for quotable controversy. President Barack Obama 's so-called green jobs czar was videotaped saying at a town hall meeting in February that Republicans are "a--holes." Fox News is already having a field day with Jones. Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity have both railed against the green jobs expert, and the latest video to make the Internet rounds was fodder for Hannity on his show Thursday. And yes Van Jones does call Republicans A-holes in the video, but in context it really doesn't sound that outrageous. At the meeting, Jones is asked why Democrats aren't ramming ... Read Full Story

Cliff Kincaid over at Accuracy In Media has received some documents from The White House under the FOIA that show Communist “Green Jobs” czar Van Jones was forced out. It doesn’t appear he even wrote his own resignation letter. According to Kincaid, Jones was forced out in order to protect Obama’s friend and Chicago slumlord Valerie Jarrett. Jarrett is Obama’s closest friend and adviser and also the one responsible for hiring Van Jones — knowing all along he was a radical Communist. When Van Jones resigned his White House job, under fire for his pro-communist views, White House adviser David Axelrod said that Jones ... Read Full Story

(Getty Images | Inset from Glenn Beck Show) Van Jones was vilified by Fox News personality Glenn Beck on Monday, and characterized as a leftist radical. In a 6-minute profile backed by ominous music, Beck described Jones, a civil rights attorney, activist, and author from Oakland, as a "rowdy black nationalist." Van Jones attends Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World Gala. (Getty Images) Beck told his audience how Jones had been arrested during two separate protests, but he didn't mention that Jones co-founded Color of Change. That's the political group spear-heading the boycott of his show for accusing President Barack Obama of ... Read Full Story

My letter to The New Republic: John McWhortle is on the right track when he suggests the "trutherism" espoused by Van Jones may represent "a tantrum from people out of power," a "gestural, performative ... animus" on par with the right's recent overreaction to the botched publicity leading up to Obama's address to American students. But it's unfathomable why McWhortle would then consider not only Jones's resignation, but his very repudiation...
