Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Borg was the daughter of Gottfried Borg, a Swedish immigrant and Minna Noble. She became a model in 1936 before winning a contract at Paramount Pictures. A car crash in 1939 necessitated drastic reconstruction of her face by plastic surgery. She appeared in some 100 film roles, mostly in B-films, but occasionally in small roles in A-films, such as Love Me or Leave Me (1955), Guys and Dolls (1955), Thunder in the Sun (1959) and The Alamo (1960). She also appeared frequently on television.
She was married to Paul Herrick (1942) and to Andrew McLaglen (1946 - 1958). Both marriages ended in divorce.
