Even a member of Congress is on Chrysler's dealership hit list. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., a businessman who has owned car dealerships since 1992, learned Thursday that his Venice, Fla., Dodge dealership was among those scheduled to be terminated. "It's an outrage. It's not about me. I'm going to be fine," said Buchanan, the dealership's majority owner. "You're talking over 100,000 jobs. We're supposed to be in the business of creating jobs, not killing jobs." Vern Buchanan says it has discovered a link between Democratic rival Christine Jennings and one of the 10 lawsuits filed against the freshman congressman in recent months. The developments stem from the most recent volley of suits filed between Buchanan and former business associates. Buchanan, R-Sarasota, filed a suit in Duval County against businessman Sam Kazran for failure to repay a $2.5 million loan. The two co-owned a Jacksonville auto dealership in the past.
