More screen caps! I may be going a little nuts with these but as you can see I've good reason! I posted about Viktor & Rolfs giant tulle creations the other day and Ang of Dorothea's Closet pointed me to the video of the show which I of course watched. The thing about photos is you can't see profiles or the back of the clothes and so much glorious detail can be missed. While these aren't crisp shots I still think they are worth a look to see how these ingenious tulle sculptures appear from different angles, especially the cut-outs. How on earth did ... Viktor&Rolf Spring Ready-To-Wear 2010. Photos courtesy of Style.com Paris Fashion Week, Dutch design-duo Viktor & Rolf's previous conceptual collections ( Spring '09 and Fall '08 ) landed them two 'Crimes of Fashion' citations respectively. This time around, its all praise! Their Ready-To-Wear Spring 2009 Collection is hot haute couture. The collection is innovative, romantic, opulent, edgy and chic. The tulle cocktail dresses even designed over-the-top are very wearable. Viktor & Rolf Spring Ready-To-Wear 2010. Wow. A Viktor & Rolf show is always a guaranteed spectacle but I actually laughed out loud at this one! I'd like to say it was because their unbridled playful experiment with tulle made me happy, but I'm not quite sure I can convince myself it's a matter of laughing with them. Or maybe I am? It's okay to feel confused when presented with clothes that are the tulle equivalent of Edward Scissorhands' handiwork on the neighbourhood shrubs. I have to say though that I'm finding myself quite fascinated with the cross-section of those precision cut-outs in the skirts. How many layers must there ... Read Full Story

There was no way I was going to not enjoy Viktor & Rolf’s Spring 2010; Roisin Murphy was singing. However, it wasn’t until I saw the collection I didn’t realize the added bonuses I would get: The Grace Jones hair on all the models. Awesome Roisin Murphy Singing Crazy cutout dresses. Pure spectacle and fun! Related posts Why don’t we get H&M commericals (0) Viktor & Rolf, to be swimming in cash! Viktor & Rolf sculpted tulle couture for Spring/Summer 2010 via Style.com Horticouture is always something that ruffles my feathers, but I have to say that I was pretty amused by these colorful topiary-like sculpted gowns that came down the runway at the Viktor & Rolf show at Paris Fashion Week . Tulle netting is hardly sustainable, but I could not help fantasizing about what these same gowns might look like in a French formal garden sculpted out of boxwood shrubbery . We are not interested in niche. Fashion is already for a small audience. We like to communicate with as many people as possible.1 That's Viktor Horsting of Viktor & Rolf, explaining the "blatantly commercial"2 appeal of their debut fragrance for women, Flowerbomb. Anyone hoping that they'd go for an edgier aesthetic with their followup, the newly launched Eau Mega, will be disappointed: Flowerbomb, while neither edgy nor esoteric, was...

PARIS (AFP) - Dutch design duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren surpassed even their own flights of fancy on Saturday with their ready-to-wear collection for summer 2010, a veritable tour de force in tulle.

Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren are quite the masters of illusion. Check out the trippy dress they sent down their Spring '10 runway. It looks like Anja Rubik has been chopped in half - gasp! So how did they do it? If you get close, you'll notice a black banded portion in between the two layers of tulle. I wonder which celeb will dare to walk this one down the red carpet. In the meantime, what's your take - freaky or fabulous...
