VPOD: Caftan Chic

We women have appropriated many male clothing items over the years including vests, blazers, pants and this season's must-have item, the caftan. First worn by men in 14th century Persia and still worn by men today in India, Pakistan and parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, it didn't long for women to figure out that caftans are super comfy and versatile. Of course, today's VPOD takes the simple caftan to a whole new level.

This 1920s version glams up the ethnic caftan in sheer black silk and a luxurious gold metallic lace panel. And it's the perfect showcase for an equally fetching vintage black slip.

What a dramatic find for a vintage fashionista!
