PPP Looked At Hypothetical Kaine-McDonnell Match-Up Richmond , VA ( 1140wrva.com ) – Governor Tim Kaine (D) would potentially be looking a tough re-election fight if he were allowed to run again, according to Public Policy Polling. PPP finds, from its most recent poll, that Kaine trails Bob McDonnell (R) 51% to 43%. McDonnell currently leads State Senator Creigh Deeds (D) 52% to 40%. Virginia is a weird state, and I don’t just say that because I lived there for three years. Virginia is weird because they hold major elections on odd numbered years. As a result, the Gubernatorial Election is going to be held in November of 2009 and, assuming Mike Huckabee endorses Bob McDonnell, it will be the first true test of HuckPAC’s newly formed National Volunteer Team. Photo by maxedaperture No disrespect meant to Governor Tim Kaine, whom I'm sure is a competent storm chaser, but are there seriously not more qualified people in the Commonwealth of Virginia to do this sort of thing? While I'm certain that a helicopter tour of the state would have given Kaine a better impression of the damage done in Hampton Roads by storms, that helicopter tour might have informed any number of state employees who are 1...

Virginia Governor Tim Kaine declared a State of Emergency Wednesday night. The declaration is in response to the anticipated effects of the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida and the coastal Nor'easter hitting Hampton Roads as well as other portions of the Commonwealth.
