Xbox 360 Virtua Fighter 5 Gets Big Patch

Sega has released a patch for the online-enabled Xbox 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 making the title more like the latest versions of the Virtua Fighter 5 arcade machine.

The most important change comes in the form of bugfixes and changes to the online matchmaking system to make finding an opponent easier.

Virtua Fighter purists, however, will be most excited by the new costume options (straight from VF5's arcade-only Version C) and the ability to wear mismatching clothing. A quick look at my own copy of the game revealed that not every clothing option works with every costume option, but it's still nice to be given more variety.

Sega also dropped a press release along with the patch that has a short FAQ with it. As if PlayStation 3 Virtua Fighter 5 owners didn't already have enough to be jealous of, the FAQ states that there will never, ever be a patch for the PS3 version that grants online play, citing technological impossibilities.
