On Tuesday, Vikings owner Zygi Wilf was a guest at the Governor’s Residence, where he and Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty discussed the Vikings need for a new stadium . The Vikings camp says the conversation was “very positive” while the Governor’s camp said very little specifics were discussed. The State of Minnesota is bracing for what is being described as a “severe budget crisis” in 2010, which is the biggest hurdle towards building a new stadium. The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission recently stated that the State’s professional sports teams have generated upwards of $450 million in sports revenue since 1961. Until this week, the Vikings have had a pretty fortunate year when it comes to injuries. However, today the Vikings listed a quarter of their roster on the injury report. A quarter is a lot, especially considering the majority of our injured players are starters.
