Happy Birthday to Desi Arnaz Jr...

Can you imagine if on Barack Obama's inauguration day this week, a TV star couple had a baby and that baby knocked Obama off the front pages of the newspaper or at least relegated him to second fiddle?

It actually happened to Dwight D. Eisenhower back in 1952 when Lucille Ball gave birth to a child by the name of Desi Arnaz Jr. Her TV alter-ego, Lucy Ricardo, gave birth to her TV baby on ths same day 56 years ago. Ike joked that Desi. Jr. had knocked him off the front page.

Time flies. Happy 56th birthday to the son of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. He co-starred with moom and sis Lucie Arnaz on the "Here's Lucy" sitcom then became a huge teen idol with the group Dino, Desi and Billy (the others were Dean Paul Martin, (son of Dean Martin), and Billy Hinsche.) The band scored two hit singles with "I'm a Fool" and "Not The Lovin Kind." He is touring with a new configuration of Dino, Desi & Billy called Ricci, Desi & Billy. It features Arnaz, Jr. reunited with Hinsche, and joined by Ricci Martin (youngest son of Dean Martin). The group performs original material as well as the songs the original band performed.
