The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) will launch later this year with a single event at the U.S Open Nationals in Salt Lake City. The idea is to create a grass roots league for adult women and offer them a place to play after college. Reports are that in his official role as ambassador for the games, Prince Harry is set to make an appearance at the beach volleyball venue during the London Olympic Games. Though nothing is certain it appears that he along with brother William and sister-in-law Kate will be attending various events in hopes of bringing a little magic to what they called the "less high-profile events." I can't believe I've found a way to mention Prince Harry twice in a month. But with the London Olympics fast approaching, the young Prince is out fulfilling his role as Ambassador to the Games. Apparently, his love for volleyball is no passing fancy. Prince Harry is taking a trip to Brazil where he will actually play some beach volleyball. The NCAA just signed a $500 million deal with ESPN to air more college sports through 2024. That means that instead of getting only the Regional Finals and Final Four matches, volleyball fans can expect to see more of the earlier rounds of the playoffs broadcast on TV. Finally, 2012 is upon us and the Olympics are just a few short months away. I, for one, am extremely excited and I hope you are too.
