For those folks who may be interested in the history of Voodoo dolls, you should check out my new book, Voodoo Dolls in Magick and Ritual. In it, I trace the origins of the modern day Voodoo doll back to Africa and Greece, how they were used, how they got here to the US, and how they are supposed to be used, as opposed to how they are believed to be used. In 213 pages (who knew there was so much to know?) I discuss the various types of archetypal dolls that have had an influence on the... Read Full Story
For the holidays, cherubs and angels in the form of figurines, ornaments, statues, and even sitting at the top of the Christmas tree are a time-honored, classic gift. These cultural figures have been adored for centuries because of what they symbolize to the people who collect them. Most of our representations of cherubs consist of chubby babies with adorable faces and little wings, frolicking up in the clouds, occasionally shooting an arrow of love into the hearts of lovers. In the Bible... Read Full Story

Voodoo doll left on Ms. Denizac’s property
The husband of Zenaida Denizac (of Deltona, FL) came home to a rather disturbing incident a few days ago. He found a voodoo doll intended for his wife left in his yard.
I’m a born again Christian and I don’t play that. Voodoo dolls are satanic and directly from the bowels of hell. The person who is playing with those dolls is putting his/her soul in a bad situation with the Lord.
The bible says that when you set a trap for... Read Full Story

CANADA- group of artists opposed to the re-election of Saguenay Mayor Jean Tremblay is selling voodoo dolls bearing the politician's likeness in the hope that he will retire. Pierre Demers, a film teacher at Cégep de Jonquière and a long-time outspoken critic of Tremblay, said it's time for the mayor's 12-year reign to end. "Maybe it's time for him to retire," he said. Demers, who came up with the idea for the voodoo doll, which comes with its own pins, said the handmade doll portrays... Read Full Story
Here's a strange and bizarre idea (okay, maybe not for me but I'm a little strange and bizarre anyway), how about a Voodoo doll for Christmas? Or perhaps it would be better for celebrating the Yuletide season... I'm told Jesus and Voodoo dolls don't get along. Anyway, the Mystic Voodoo has the largest selection of authentic handcrafted Voodoo dolls on the internet. Now this is one scary looking Voodoo doll! Granted, this guy probably won't win you any brownie points with anyone (unless... Read Full Story
Hoodoo revolves around veneration of water spirits, the least of which is one of Louisiana's most ancient residents – the ALLIGATOR. This Swamp Granny Hoodoo Gator carries with her the essence of the most traditional of rootwork ingredients, and is the keeper of ancient wisdom. Swamp Granny Hoodoo Gator is one of my favorite creations. She is constructed in the traditional New Orleans fashion out of Spanish moss and sticks, and her face is hand sculpted out of polymer clay and painted. She... Read Full Story
