This season has certainly been a disappointment for the Demon Deacons, but at least Riley Skinner and the Deacs won their final game of the season to end a season, career, and era on a positive note. Riley Skinner passed for a career-high 372 yards and a school-record five touchdowns to help Wake Forest defeat Duke 45-34 on Saturday. Skinner completed 28 of 38 passes and did not throw an interception for the Demon Deacons.

Harris scored 16 points apiece to help Wake Forest cruised to 76-52 win over Winston-Salem State on Tuesday night.Al-Farouq Aminu and Ari Stewart added 13 points each for the Demon Deacons (4-0), who led by as many as 29 points in the second half in beating their smaller in-city rival for the fourth straight year.  

Winston-Salem's Wake Forest University took top honors for graduation rates among men's basketball players in the Atlantic Coast Conference, but Duke University football players lead the conference on graduation, according to the latest figures from the NCAA.

Austin da Luz and Anthony Arena staked No. 2 Wake Forest to a 2-0 lead and the Demon Deacons held off a late rally by No. 18 UNC-Wilmington to claim a 2-1 win in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday evening at Spry Stadium.  

Al-Farouq Aminu scored 23 points, fellow sophomore Tony Woods matched a career high with 12 and Wake Forest defeated ECU 89-58 on Sunday. Ishmael Smith scored 14 points for the Demon Deacons (2-0). They never trailed, shot 54 percent, held ECU to 24.6 percent shooting and turned 22 turnovers into 25 points.
