Across the Lines: Seattle

The Rams week 1 opponent is the fierce division rival Seattle Seahawks. But, the Seatlle Seahawks are hurting a little bit right now.
Their franchise left tackle, Walter Jones, who was their best lineman last year and has been their best lineman for the past 10 years is facing additional knee surgery and Marcus Trufant has a back problem. Here’s what Mike Sando says about the pair.
Left tackle Walter Jones is scheduled for arthroscopic knee surgery Thursday, roughly nine months after undergoing microfracture surgery on the same left knee. He is 35 years old and has also battled back spasms this month.
At left cornerback, Marcus Trufant is battling a disc problem in his back and hoping for the best. He may or may not be available for the regular-season opener, or after the sixth game of the season if he remains on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
He also goes on to list DE Patrick Kerney and QB Matt Hasselback as older players who are injury risks.
You never want to wish injury on anyone or celebrate injuries, but it looks like the Seahawks will be without their best lineman and best corner in Week 1 and beyond.
