Tim Ruskell has been pushed out as president and general manager of the Seahawks, leaving the door open for Mike Holmgren's possible return to Seattle. The Seattle Seahawks have waived fill-in starting left tackle Kyle Williams. The move announced Tuesday suggests that Damion McIntosh knows enough of the offense to start in Seattle's next game on Nov. 1 at Dallas or that nine-time Pro Bowl left tackle Walter Jones will be ready to make his season debut then.

Seahawks coach Jim Mora said Wednesday morning that quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will try to practice even though he's still experiencing pain from the rib injury that has sidelined him for two games.

The Seahawks officially announced today that All world LT Walter Jones will be out for the remainder of the 2009 season and it could very well mean the end of his outstanding career. Walter Jones' season ended before he could even get it started. Jones underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in December to clear out cartilage and it was expected he would make a strong recovery. A day after the Seahawks placed Walter Jones on the injured reserve list, ending his season, the team announced linebacker Lofa Tatupu is having surgery on his torn, left pectoral muscle performed by Dr. James Andrews in Alabama.  

Seahawks defensive end Cory Redding is inactive for their game against San Francisco, while the 49ers are without wide receiver Isaac Bruce. Also inactive for the 49ers Sunday is starting right tackle Adam Snyder, out with a shoulder injury. He was listed as probable on the injury report Friday. Bruce was questionable with a knee injury.  

Tim Ruskell knows his legacy is set in Seattle. And it's not from presiding over the Seahawks' only Super Bowl. It's for letting perennial Pro Bowl blocker Steve Hutchinson leave in free agency while as the Seahawks' president and general manager, a job that ended on Thursday.
