Wanda Barzee, the woman accused of kidnapping
Elizabeth Smart in 2002, plead guilty to her charges today. She also agreed to testify against her estranged husband Brian David Mitchell in exchange for a reduced, 15-year sentence.

Barzee and Mitchell were both indicted on the same federal charges of kidnapping and unlawful transportation of a minor across state lines to engage in sexual activity, along with various state charges. Barzee will be sentenced on May 19.
Both allegedly kidnapped Elizabeth from her home in Federal Heights, Utah, in 2002, took her to California, then took her back to Utah, where they were arrested in 2003.
Barzee was declared incompetent to go on trial until just recently, when the courts gave doctors permission to give Barzee anti-psychotic medication involuntarily.

DesertNews.com): "I'm greatly humbled as I realize how much Elizabeth Smart has been victimized and the role I played in it. I'm so sorry, Elizabeth, for all the pain and suffering I caused you and your family. It is my hope that you find it in your heart to forgive me."
