10 killed, province governor hurt, in Iraq bombs

RAMADI, Iraq (AFP) -- Ten people were killed and more than 35 wounded, including the governor of Anbar province, in two attacks in the western Iraqi city of Ramadi on Wednesday, doctors and police said. A British soldier was shot dead Monday in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence here said, bringing the total killed this year to 100. The soldier, from 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment, was killed as a result of small arms fire, in the Nad-e Ali area, in central Helmand Province, the MoD said in a statement.
