Twenty years ago I was in San Diego, preparing to move my parents to an assisted living residence in Bellingham, Washington. My dad was not at all well, and during the summer it had become clear that they had to move 1) out of the place they were and 2) closer to me in Montreal or to my sister Laurie in Vancouver, BC. They vetoed any move east because of the cold and flatly refused to allow us to start the process of bringing them into Canada as sponsored immigrants. That was a mistake, but at that point Laurie and I were still learning ... Read Full Story

When they tell us that Bush kept us safe, we should remind them that we wouldn't have been attacked on September 11, if the Bush administration would have done their jobs. We lived through eight years of Bush's failed polices, don't let anyone try to convince you they were successful. It is truly disgusting that the Bush apologist are out and about spewing lies and distortions. It's the final insult to the American people and the rest of the world. Do you think Bush and his co-conspirators should be able to steal away quietly, write books, get jobs with major corporations, and otherwise profit from their illegal actions? I don't. I hope that you will realize that gay and lesbian Americans are entitled to the same rights when it comes to marriage as their straight counterparts. I hope that you will make sure that the environment and wildlife is respected and protected. I hope that you will honor, follow and respect every aspect of our Constitution and Bill of rights. I hope that you will denounce torture and ... Read Full Story

Due to the fact that an alleged terror suspect was tortured, the case against him was thrown out. Now the victims families have been "denied justice."   Keith said last night.. "virtually everything Mr. Obama must undo starting next Tuesday, President Bush did... in the name of 9/11. We had to shred the Constitution, for 9/11. We had to become torturers, for 9/11... to prevent another one... to ensure justice for those behind 9/11 itself. And tonight, in our fifth story, on the eve of Mr. Bush's last fevered attempt at legacy re-writing, tonight we know for sure not only that Mr. Bush's decision ... Read Full Story
