Dear President Obama:
I hope that you will care for our troops and their families when they are sent to fight and when they return home. I hope that you will respect the "separation of church and state."
I hope that you will realize that gay and lesbian Americans are entitled to the same rights when it comes to marriage as their straight counterparts. I hope that you will make sure that the environment and wildlife is respected and protected.
I hope that you will honor, follow and respect every aspect of our Constitution and Bill of rights. I hope that you will denounce torture and let the world know that those type of acts won't be tolerated, but will be prosecuted.
I hope that you will never lose sight of why you ran and never lose touch with the common person. I hope that you will stay optimistic and not become jaded. I hope that you will put your country before your party.
I hope that you will make an effort to be there to tuck your little ones in at night and hug your wonderful wife. I hope that the American people will unite around you and we will all work for the betterment of our country and the lives of every citizen here in America and around the world.
