According to Wikipedia: Henry Warren Beaty, better known as Warren Beatty, is an Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning American actor, producer, screenwriter, and director. He long had a reputation as a womanizer and playboy, but that reputation has faded since his 1992 marriage to Annette Bening. The Academy Awards honored him with the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award in 2000, presented by his close friend Jack Nicholson, while in 2004 he received a Kennedy Center Honor. In 2007, he was honored with the Cecil B. Demille Award at the Golden Globe Awards Ceremony, with the award, and a tribute montage, presented by Tom Hanks.

Warren Beatty Receives Life Achievement Award From AFI

Warren Beatty received the American Film Institute's highest honor Thursday night, but you wont get to see it until June 25.

Beatty received the 36th AFI Life Achievement Award for his lifetime of work as a producer, writer, director and star that includes such movie favorites as 'Bonnie and Clyde,' 'McCabe & Mrs. Miller,' 'Shampoo,' 'Reds,' 'Heaven Can Wait,' 'Dick Tracy' and 'Bugsy.'

Beatty joins such previous winners as Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood, Dustin Hoffman, Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock, Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, Clint Eastwood and Tom Hanks. You have to believe that Jack Nicholson will be at the ceremony with his dark sunglasses and sly wit.

This was the 36th annual event for the award.

The award goes to someone "whose talent has in a fundamental way advanced the film art; whose accomplishment has been acknowledged by scholars, critics, professional peers and the general public; and whose work has stood the test of time."

Thursday's tribute will air on the USA Network on Wednesday, June 25.
