Al Davis stands alone. In an era when fans and coaches are use to dealing with rich fat cats as the owners of their professional athletic teams Al Davis comes from a different place and time. This is why Al Davis is misunderstood. Al Davis is the ultimate maverick. This was proven once again in the 2009 NFL Draft. While the experts and talking heads espoused their opinions as to what the Oakland Raiders should do Davis made his own decision regardless as to what the rest of the football world would think. With the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft the ... Read Full Story

When things disintegrated to the point where the Oakland Raiders needed to make a change at the position of Head Coach they looked to the great northwest for the solution to their problems. Tom Cable who at the age of 44 unlike his recent predecessors is not a young and up and coming coach that is younger than some of the players. He is also not an aging coach who is looking for a last chance before they find themselves in some studio somewhere staring at a TV camera. Tom Cable is a working man’s coach. Working through the colligate ranks in places like ... Read Full Story

I guess former Raider and now NFL Network talking head Warren Sapp is not a big fan of new Raiders coach Tom Cable. In a recent NFL.com chat Sapp was asked the question about Cable becoming the new coach of the silver and black. Warren Sapp held an chat on NFL.com Thursday and while he paid a glowing tribute to Al Davis, he apparently doesn’t think much of the ability of his former boss to select a coach. Q: Do you think Cable is good enough to lead the Raiders? Sapp: Tom Cable couldn’t lead the Raiders to a picnic in his own back ... Read Full Story

Storied Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis has his fans and his detractors, to be sure, but love him or hate him, his famous mantra of "Just win, baby!" certainly applies in this year's SEC football race.  Nearly every week, the latest loser in a key SEC matchup either blames the loss on the latest conspiracy theory, or comes up with elaborate lists of stats showing that while their team got whipped on the field, they really kinda sorta won. But...

As it stands, the Oakland Raiders are not fairing too well this season.  Constant speculation has been in the form of who will be the next coach, will Al Davis relinquish control of the team, and when we will win again? As a Raider fan, it's easy to be discouraged and sit back, watching the team self-destruct. But I say, let us point out the problems over and over again, and hope that, eventually, someone does something about it. If any woman...

In this Biggs article, he tells of Warren Sapps's visit to the Mully & Hanley Show on the Score this afternoon. Apparently, since back in '95 when Angelo was a personnal director for the Tampa Bay Bucs and drafted Sapp, Sapp has not been a fan of our current GM. "I'm not an Angelo fan. He was in Tampa the whole time I was there,'' Sapp said. "Trust me we had discussions about different things, no, no thank you, you all can have him...

Dear Mr. Davis, I am writing you on behalf of the Oakland Raider faithful fan base. I am writing to express our frustration and discontent with what our once proud franchise has evolved into. I would like to tell you that we, as fans, appreciate what you have done for the National Football League and for our beloved Oakland Raiders. For years in the '70s and '80s you put a quality product on the football field and made us all fall in love with...

As I watch yet another uninspired Raider effort in an ugly game today, I can't help but wonder—what's the plan for 2010?  Rumormongers are already saying Al Davis wants to fire Cable for cause after the season.  It's just not that simple. With five coaches since 2001, Al clearly can make the firing decision when he feels it's warranted.  If he fires another coach, it will be JaMarcus Russell's fifth play caller in three years.  Unless the next...
