The K-State basketball team scored a school record 39 points off of turnovers on its way to an 86-69 victory over Washington State in the Big 12/Pac-10 Shootout on Saturday night before a sellout crowd at Bramlage Coliseum.  

Washington State's dreadful football season is over, and now attention turns to the future. Coach Paul Wulff, who appears likely to return for a third season, continued to reassure fans that better things are coming for a program that has gone 3-22 in his two years.

College of Charleston women's basketball coach Nancy Wilson said she usually doesn't make such bold statements, but back in October at the school's Maroon and White festivities she promised Cougars fans that they would see some exciting basketball if they would come to the team's season opener and even went so far as to guarantee victory over Clemson.

There are probably some Washington State University soccer fans who feel the NCAA selection committee shortchanged their Cougars as far as the bracketing for this year’s Division I championship is concerned.
