The Newseum (555 Penn. Ave. NW) is DC's most exciting museum opening in a very long time. The Smithsonian projects have obviously set the standard, but the Newseum is definitely keeping up. I got a chance to take a sneak peek of the museum before it's opening on Friday, April 11. On Friday, the Newseum is free all day (regular cost is $20) and Good Morning America will be broadcasting live at the museum. So be there on Friday at 7 AM to get your time to shine... READ ALL ABOUT IT! (WITHOUT BEING BORED).

If you have read more than one or two of my columns, you've already sorted out that I'm no student of serious journalism. Certainly I can string sentences together fairly well and I'm also quite proficient in the art of spell-check. I write in what's been described by people who owe me money as a "light hearted" and "enjoyably readable" style, but if I was challenged with writing a serious piece of journalistic work on any subject, you may have a long wait. I have no doubt I could deliver... Read Full Story

Good to see Washington still has a Sense of Humor

Did anyone see the Jay Leno show last night? If you didn't, you should definitely check out this clip. All the ramblings going on in Washington right now with the health care debate raging, Jay decides to go there and play a skit on how even politicians can get along. Congressmen Dennis Kucinich and Steve Latourette of Ohio agreed to do the skit. Kucinich is a democrat and Latourette is a repulblican . Of course they differ strongly on the health care debate, but they do share something in... Read Full Story

Pic Recap: Happy Earth Day | Green Apple Festival

Today is Earth Day , the day to set aside to focus on preserving the planet and to do what we can to save it.  Here is my Earth Day story: I was at the MAC counter with shopping bags in hand and I was finishing up my mall binge by buying some moisturizer. After I pay, the lady takes out the MAC bag and wants to put my one item in it. Because I'm so green , I say, "Oh no ma'am that's quite alright I can just stick that in my purse". She looks at me in kind of disgust and says, "What!?" "I said... Read Full Story

The Democrats Taking Over

The Democrats are trying to get even more votes in the Senate and House. Their latest attempt to give Washington, DC a vote in the House of Representatives has been withdrawn after criticism from the Blue Dog Democrats, those more moderate or conservative Democrats. Now some on the right, including my hillbilly in-bred friends over at ARRA News Service , have celebrated this latest move as a victory for the Constitution and a blockade to prevent even a single additional Democrat voice in the...
