Wayman Tisdale, noted musician and former pro basketball player, passed away on May 15, 2009 at the age of 44 after a battle with cancer.He gained early notice for her sterling play at the Univeristy of Oklahoma, before going on to 12 seasons in the NBA.He was also an award-winning jazz musician.From an obituary at the Assoiciated Press: Wayman Tisdale, a three-time All-American at Oklahoma who played 12 seasons in the NBA, died after a two-year battle with cancer. Wayman Tisdale fights bone cancer

Unfortunate news - former pro basketball athlete Wayman Tisdale continues to fight bone cancer.  Back in 2007 he fell and broke his leg.  During the recovery, doctors discovered that he had bone cancer.  He has pursued several treatments already.Earlier this month, Wayman Tisdale had a part of his right leg amputated to prevent the bone cancer from spreading.Learn more about Bone Cancer Follow news about Wayman Tisdale Check out other Sports coverageRead Full Story
