If you’ve looked at any of my earlier articles, you’ve seen how passionate I am about website security and that I love to share everything that I’ve discovered.   I have mostly focused my research on PCI Scanning and will always say that the best way to protect your online company or yourself while shopping online is through PCI Compliance , but I would also like to share some additional ways to protect yourself and your information while shopping on the internet.   Look at the site that you’re buying from.   If it’s not well put together, and doesn’t look very good, then ... While it would be silly to say at this point that the Wi-Fi multiplayer in The Conduit is in shambles, information that someone has codes for the game doesn’t bode too well. On YouTube, hetoan2 has claimed to be the first Wi-Fi hacker for the game (and the video above does look fairly convincing). Apparently the user is using USB Gecko scripts in order to obtain infinite HP/ammo and no reloads. At the present time, the codes do not appear to be available to the public. Conficker Conficker worm has passed a dubious milestone. It has now infected more than 7 The million [m] computers, security experts estimate. On Thursday, researchers at the volunteer-run Shadowserver Foundation logged computers from more than 7 million unique IP addresses, all infected by the known variants of Conficker. They have been able to keep track of Conficker infections by cracking the algorithm the worm uses to look for instructions on the Internet and placing their own “sinkhole” servers on the Internet domains it is programmed to visit. Conficker has several ways of receiving instructions, so the bad guys have still been able to control ... Read Full Story

Excerpts From CIO Twitter was hit by two different rounds of phishing Thursday, as criminals tried to take control of user accounts and then use them as a springboard to attack others. Both Twitter and Facebook have been hit with phishing attacks in recent days. “The social networking attacks are becoming increasingly common,” said Jamie De Guerre, chief technology officer with antispam vendor Cloudmark. “Spammers are really moving to attack social networks because of the popularity of the social networks and also because they’re not as well defended as most e-mail platforms.” Twitter was hit by another high-profile phishing attack in January. This latest ... Read Full Story
