Proform 570 Crosswalk Treadmill Review

There are two major types of cross training treadmills, there is the type which includes handweights and has programs which prompt there use and there is a second type that includes upper arms to work the upper body during workouts.

The 570 Crosswork is of the second type with upper arms as well as a number of crosstraining programs with variable intensity. Offering a number of workout options in one treadmill, the ProForm endevours to define itself as something other than a treadmill, perhaps a crosswalker designation would be more appripriate.

To be expected on any treadmill wishing to server users is a cushioning system whiche reduces impact by just over 20% when compared to running on asphalt. A fan to cool has also made itself rather standard on most machines which aim to provide their users any level of comfort, fans are also cheap so that is not a big surprise.

The unique feature for this machine is the intensity settings for each program which allows you to adjust the intensity of your workout on the fly and the program will adjust for the duration of your workout. This feature helps to make the 570 Cross walk one of the better treadmill cross trainers available.

More Than You Would Expect For $600

Personally, I am not overly enthused by the idea of pumping my arms foreward and back while I exercise, but there are many people who do not mind it. For those people they can burn 50% more calories during their ruitine and work a whole other set of muscles, including the ever popular abs. For this reason, and the fact that is is not a totally under powered treadmill, I actually like this machine for its price.

Understand that I am not comparing this machine to the treadmills made by Smooth, Sole, or Precor which come which much better warranties and construction but also carry heavier price tags. Comparing this machine to others for sale at $600, it is a stand out for having a decent motor and a deck which is semi accomedating to people taller than 5′ 2″.

Variable intensity means that the 570 can meet you at your level, if a particular program is too difficult or easy for you, you can adjust the intensity up or down on the fly. The 12 programs allow for a little more variety than are seen on other similarly priced machines and allows the 570 to take full advantage of its pivot arms by including some cross training workouts designed specificall for using by the upper arms and treadmill.

A Surprise From ProForm

A quality warranty is something the 570 crosswalk does not offer, but what it does offer makes it a great value despite this short coming. When compared to competitors in its price range, it has a better motor, better motor warranty, better overall functionality, and delivers a better value. I usually hate cheap treadmills, this one wasn’t so bad. It still has the liabilities of being a cheap machine, which include: low quality components, poor warranty, and lack of high end features, but proves itself a very good treadmill for its cost.
