"Today my heart is broken," Wendy wrote. "Many, many friends and family were able to say their private goodbyes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us ... Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever."
Dio had just wrapped his summer tour with Heaven and Hell last year when he confirmed he had cancer and was undergoing chemo treatments at the time of his death. He was being treated at a hospital in Houston, according to his website. Condolences go out to his friends, fans, and family.
