Texas Rangers Tickets
The Texas Rangers have been around since 1961 and were originally called the Washington Senators, but note this was not the same Washington Senators that left to become the Minnesota Twins. Now that I’ve cleared that up, more about the Texas Rangers.
In 1972 the Senators moved to Arlington Texas and became the Texas Rangers, playing first at the Arlington Stadium and then a new stadium was built in 1994 called the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Having never won a World Series, the Texas Rangers have one West Division Titles in 1996, 1998 and 1999.
The Texas Rangers have had a few players and owners that make them somewhat notable. First, star pitcher Nolan Ryan played for the Texas Rangers from 1988 to his retirement in 1993. Ryan was the first player in Major League Baseball to be paid $1 million while he was with the Houston Astros.

The other notable figure (among many others) to have had contact with the Texas Rangers is President George W. Bush. In 1989 the team was sold to an investment group that included George W. Bush who was the Managing General Partner of the Rangers until he became Governor of Texas in 1994. Bush’s stake in the team was a whopping 2%, which he paid $500k for. When the team was sold again in 1998, Bush received $250 million for his stake. Not bad for 4 years!
In 2001 the Texas Rangers were in the news for having signs Alex Rodriguez to a 10 year, $252 million dollar contract and again in 2005 for hiring Jon Daniels to the the teams general manager at only 28 years of age; That made him the youngest general manager in the history of the Major League.
If you happen to be in Arlington Texas, make sure to get some Texas Rangers Tickets and catch a game.
