In Dick's opinion the torture (which the Red Cross says definitely was torture), the unpopular war (based on the false belief that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction), and the unauthorized use of federal wiretaps were all part of a greater strategy that kept America safe from terrorist attacks.

Obama has taken the country in a new direction. The president has eliminated the use of torture by demanding that the CIA follow the Army field manual's rules of interrogation. He's also announced his intentions to draw down the war in Iraq. And Cheney says it's policy decisions like this that can get Americans killed.

"President Obama campaigned against it all across the country, and now he is making some choices that, in my mind, will, in fact, raise the risk to the American people of another attack," he said on CNN's State of the Union Sunday evening.
