 "Thick and scratches easily" 2009-10-08

This is a relatively good watch for the price I paid (~$45), but it has a few drawbacks which made me dislike it from the minute I got it (I wouldn't buy it had I saw it in person - it was an online purchase).

1. It is way too thick. Much more than I expected. You cannot see this in any of the online pictures - all are straight from the front.
2. It scratches very easily. A few weeks of use and I already had a few big scratches. Three years of use, and the the plastic is also scratched and dull.
3. Analog feature a bit useless: when you look at the watch the digital is more visible, and the analog part is just "in your way". It should have something else displayed using the digital display (at least as an option), or make the minute and hour hands more clear.
4. Minutes hand moves every 20sec. Synchronizing it with the digital watch is not easy.

There are a few pros, though:
1. Many features.
2. Three years of use and it works like new (doesn't look like new, of course).
3. Low price.
4. Gains only about a second every too days.

To conclude, I think you can get a much better Casio if you add only $10-$20. Don't take this one.

Nice watch for the money. I like the style and functionality. It has all the features I was looking for. The one complaint is the band size. I have large wrists and the watch band is too tight. I contacted Casio and they don't sell links for this watch. Had to purchase a new band to take the links from. Cost half as much as the watch alone.

Not bad for a $30-40 watch. Aside from most common features in this type of watch, the countdown timer is a "must have" for any watch I buy. I have always like the dual analog-digi this one is good because the hands are small enough and the LCD digits big enough that the digits are never hidden. I often set the digits to GMT with the hands on local time and works great. The crystal is fairly cheap (obvious for the price paid) and will scratch over time. The alarm and timer sounds have reasonable volume. The hands are actually set through button menus (no rotating dial) and there is no analog second hand which I haven't really missed. My main complaint is the readibility of the digital display in low light. The picture makes the digits appear almost sky blue when they are, in fact a dark bronze color. The best readibility is either bright light, or using the illumination feature which is a little weak although I've seen much worse.

The watch looks too good in the picture, but its not that awesome..
Pros: 1. cheap for its functions..
Cons:
1. Dial is very thick which doesnt look good.
2. The glass is actually plastic , which tend to get scratches very easily.
3. The watch is very light weight.. It doesnt feel like stainless steel.. (I would prefer a bit heavy watch)

I looked for about two weeks at various watches. This Casio was the best looking with out looking too cumbersom. It was slightly thicker than other watches which worried me but now I never even thought about it until this review. No problem at all. Good illumination, easy to read face and water resistant for casual swimming snd snorkeling.
