Probably the best relationship advice I ever got was to treat people the way you want to be treated. This simple piece of advice covers all the relationships in your life; friends, family, co-workers, and people you date.

Here's something else to think about: you should give your significant other the same courtesies you give your friend. Think about it, if a friend shows up late for dinner, do you get mad and yell at them? No, you just go on with the evening and enjoy it.

Relationships are sometimes tricky to manage and some people don't realize how much work it takes to sustain a relationship. The people within the relationship will change and grow over time and the relationship dynamics will also change. You must be able to adapt to these changes in order for the relationship to survive. This is a point where people will often seek relationship advice.

These days there are a wide variety of ways a person can find relationship advice. It used to be that we had limited sources for advice, usually a family member or trusted friend. This isn't the case any more, we have magazines, websites, online forums, radio and television shows all giving relationship advice.

Unfortunately, not all relationship advice available is good advice. So choose your sources carefully. Some people actually make a living out of giving relationship advice for entertainment purposes. It doesn't really matter if it works or not because you will probably never see these people on the show again unless the advice did work. This makes it hard to decide if the counselor is giving good relationship advice or not.

Relationship advice is something everyone will need from time to time. There's nothing wrong with getting some help. There are no perfect relationships, but there are many good relationships that could be great with the benefit of some relationship advice.
