A community portal about Wicca with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: Wicca is a Neopagan religion and a religious movement found in various countries throughout the world. It was first popularised in 1954 by a British civil servant named Gerald Gardner after the British Witchcraft Act was repealed. He claimed that the religion, of which he was an initiate, was a modern survival of an old witchcraft religion, which had existed in secret for hundreds of years, originating in the pre- Christian Paganism of Europe. Wicca is thus sometimes referred to as the Old Religion. The veracity of Gardner's claims cannot be independently proven, and it is thought that written Wiccan theology began to be compiled no earlier than the 1920s. Various related Wiccan traditions have since evolved, or been adapted from, the form established by Gardner, which came to be called Gardnerian Wicca. These other traditions of Wicca each have distinctive beliefs, rituals, and practices. Many traditions of Wicca remain secretive and require that members be initiated. There is also a movement of Eclectic or Solitary Wiccans who do not believe that any doctrine or traditional initiation is necessary in order to practice Wicca.

Aldoux Huxley, Hallucinogenics, and the Occult

I'm still laughing about the woman child who was somewhat boasting about her Wiccan lifestyle and that she didn't need another excuse to smoke Peyote. The child has no idea about what she was talking about. And for those who are clueless about what Wicca is and what Peyote may or may not have to do with Wicca, I am driven to post about it here just for the sake of posterity. Therefore, let me make a few points:

#1. Peyote is not smokable.

#2. Wiccan is often used by the misinformed as a description for all Witches. Furthermore, all Wiccans are Witches, but not all Witches are Wiccan. Pagans are of the old religion. It was the Pagan belief and practice that modern day Christianity resembles with its belief in the Easter Bunny (oestra) and other socially accepted practices among the occults.

#3. Note that there is a major difference between being a Wiccan and being a Pagan with Paganism being the older model to Wicca and Christianity. While Christianity, Paganism, and Wiccan are religious practices and belief systems, time wise, Paganism is the oldest practice, then came Christianity. In the 1950s Gerald Gardner crafted what is now known as Wicca.

The Rede of the Wiccae
Being known as the counsel of the Wise Ones:
Bide the Wiccan laws ye must,
in perfect love and perfect trust.

As you can tell by now, or I should hope anyway, this post is three-fold. Moreover, this is now part II of III. By clicking on the cactus, you'll hear an MP3 regarding Aldous Huxley and his empirical experiment. The audio is narrated -not by Huxley.

By clicking on the book below, you'll learn more about Aldous Huxley and his experimentation in text form with both, Mescalin and Peyote.

Then, there is the scientific method and empirical research. Be sure to tune in and drop out with the often thought of as being shady and now deceased psychedelic fella, Timothy Leary who brought us Lysergic Acid Diethlamide. It's more common to simply call it LSD.

Somewhat on the same note, I'd like to also add here that there used to be people who were regarded as "intellectuals"and were respected for their knowledge and mental abilities. Believe it or not, historically speaking, there are references to brain trusts. What that means is that a village would have a meeting of the brains trust, and people could come along and ask all manner of questions to benefit from the knowledge and experience of the members.

Hey man, that's totally psychedelic!

Just to let you know that I know that you know that I know that you know, you know? And yes, I see you around here checking out our action a whole lot. What's up with that? Is anything here up your alley? Moreover, if there is something here that you don't understand or would like more information on, give me a shout either here or my addy is in the sidebar if you'd like to exchange thoughts. It's really great seeing you here. Again, if you have a question, let it be known.
