A community portal about Wikis with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: A wiki is a type of Web site that allows the visitors themselves to easily add, remove, and otherwise edit and change some available content, sometimes without the need for registration. This ease of interaction and operation makes a wiki an effective tool for collaborative authoring. The term wiki also can refer to the collaborative software itself that facilitates the operation of such a Web site, or to certain specific wiki sites, including the computer science site WikiWikiWeb and on-line encyclopedias such as Wikipedia.

?What If! hosting London Wiki Wednesday on 3 October

What If logoI’m pleased to report that ?What If!, the innovation consultancy, are hosting the next London Wiki Wednesday on the 3rd of October at their offices in the vicinity of Marylebone High Street, and not far from Baker Street station.  If you don’t know ?What If!, as well as consulting they have authored Sticky Wisdom and How To Have Kick-Ass Ideas.  I’ve read the first, and the second is sitting in the “to read” pile on the right side of my desk.  If you interested in the topic of creativity, innovation and generating ideas in business, then they are well worth a look.

My thanks go to Anne-Fey Townsend for hosting and organising their sponsorship.  This month’s event actually coincides with the Future of Web Apps conference in London, and the first meeting of Silicon Valley chapter of the CreativeCoffee Club in Menlo Park.  With FOWA, I’m not sure if that will mean more people will be in the area to attend, or that less people will come because they are heading for the FOWA party.  We’ll see, but I think our session will be the one to be at.  On the Menlo Park front, the timing to the west Coast means that their meeting and our meeting are actually at the same time, so we may try and use the wonders of skype and the Internet to see if we can provide our low tech version of a satellite link up.  We’ll see what we can do.

The address of the event is ?What If! Innovation, The Glassworks, 3-4 Ashland Place, London, W1U 4AH.  Their map is here, and you can find it on Google.

If you are interested in wikis and deployment of social media in business, education, or community projects, then we’d love to see you next week on Wednesday.  As usual, please sign up to the wiki page to book your place.
