A community portal about Wilhelm scream with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: The Wilhelm scream is a stock sound effect first used in 1951 for the movie Distant Drums. The scream was most likely vocalized by actor-singer Sheb Wooley, who later had a number one pop hit with the novelty song " Purple People Eater." It has been featured in dozens of movies since. Alongside a certain recording of the cry of the Red-tailed Hawk, the "Universal telephone ring" , the Goofy holler and " Castle thunder," it is probably one of the most well-known cinematic sound cliches.

A stream has been launched for the new EP from A Wilhelm Scream. The self-titled EP was released digitally this week and is the first new material from the band since Career Suicide in 2007. That album was voted the best album of 2007 by Punknews.org readers.

A Wilhelm Scream have posted another new song from their upcoming self-titled EP for Paper and Plastick. The record is due out November 20, 2009 and will follow up 2007's Career Suicide. The band will be performing at The Fest 8 in Gainesville, FL this weekend.
