Rumors have been swirling for some time that Rashida Jones (Karen on The Office) would join the cast of the new NBC comedy from the Office writers. The rumor has been confirmed - Rashida Jones will co-star with SNL alum Amy Poehler in the as-yet-to-be-named sitcom.
Michael Schur, showrunner for the new Amy Poehler series says, “It’s true. She’ll [Rashida Jones] be playing a nurse named Ann. (Not [her Office character] Karen Fillipelli).”

We can finally stop saying “that new untitled Amy Poehler comedy…” - it’s got a name! “Public Service,” starring Poehler and Rashida Jones, will premiere on NBC April 9 at 8:30 p.m.
Public service comes from The Office executive producers, but will not cross paths with the Scranton-based comedy, but will follow The Office on Thursday nights.
