Director: Adam McKay In the gospel according to Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Steve Martin, Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler and even Will Ferrell, to become a successful comedic actor in Hollywood, it’s traditional practice that you go for giggles first and awards later. ***NEW SPOILER***
Tonight was a premier night for NBC and it was pretty solid. They started out with Parks and Recreation. I have to say, this was a huge plus from last year. Last year's show had its moments but overall, it was not funny enough to earn a spot near The Office. The moments came and went and a lot of the humor was really dry. I definitely enjoyed it but I can imagine that it was not too well received but other people. This first episode, however, they definitely upped the... Read Full Story
Step Brothers
Starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly
Directed by Adam McKay
Rated R
Is a smart comedy better
than a dumb comedy? There are great examples of both, and even
Will Ferrell , the star of
Step Brothers , shows up on both lists.
Stranger Than Fiction is a smart comedy with a complex premise and an
almost poetic ending. Talladega Nights is a dumb comedy in which
Ferrell, at one point, learns to face his fear of getting behind the wheel
again by driving... Read Full Story
I liked Ferrel & Reilly as the racing team in "Talladega Nights" but this was even better. The physical comedy was outstanding and the acting itself was pitch perfect. Will Ferrell - whose
Step Brothers is in theaters next weekend - is
about to battle someone even closer in an upcoming comedy: Himself. He'll play a
guy with dual personalities in the completely-unrelated-to-Batman 2-Face. The
script, according to
The Hollywood Reporter , has been sitting around
at Sony for a while, and comes from
Hancock co-writer
Vince Gilligan .
As you'd expect, since this is a comedy, and it ought to be
very broad, considering the subject matter... Read Full Story
