Willem Dafoe keeps it supernatural
After vampire outings in the Nosferatu style horror 'Shadow of the Vampire' and his upcoming blood sucking-fest Daybreakers, Dafoe has opted to keep things a little supernatural by signing on for a third vampire role - in Cirque du Freak.Dafoe is cast as foppish vampire Gavner Purl, joining the likes of John C. Reilly, Ken Watanabe, Patrick Fugit, Jane Krakowski and Salma Hayek in the freak show flick.
Cirque du Freak tells the story of a vampire who drafts a 14-year old to serve as his assistant. The youth is turned into a half-vampire and becomes the catalyst in a battle between vampires and the rival Vampanese. Universal bought rights in 2005 to a series of 12 books.Cirque du Freak is slated for release on 13th February 2009.
