The Boondock Saints Blu-ray Review

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment released on the 1999 film The Boondock Saints on high-definition Blu-ray February 10th. Written and Directed by Troy Duffy, the movie is a graphic and action-packed story about an FBI agent, Paul Smecker (Willem Dafoe), a pair of Irish brothers (Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus), the mob, and vigilante justice.

Connor McManus (Flanery) and Murphy McManus (Reedus) are out to rid the world of evil - at least evil based on their own awkward moral judment, beginning with the Russian mob. However, as the brothers take on Boston's underworld, they must also outmaneuver the odd FBI man, Smecker. Soon, Smecker must decide whether to bust the brothers or to join them in their pursuit of justice, without legal inhibition.

The Boondock Saints was a hugely popular action-drime-crime-thriller movie after its original theatrical release. The movie offers a brilliant script and great direction. The acting is superb and the story, though far-fetched, manages to work itself out with an interesting mix of drama, graphic action, and light humor. Willem Dafoe is especially fun as a flamboyant detective with a serious ability to take charge. He offers some of the most dramatic and humorous moments in the movie.

The Boondock Saints is sure entertainment down to the ironic conclusion for those that can tolerate the somewhat graphic action and spurts of profanity. The Blu-ray release of The Boondock Saints includes these great special features:
