Oscar-winning deaf actress Marlee Matlin dated her co-star in Children of a Lesser God, William Hurt, over 20 years ago. In her new biography, the 43 year-old mother of four details the abuse she suffered at the hands of aptly named Hurt during their relationship. (Getty Images) In a new book hitting shelves this week, Marlee Matlin is claiming that William Hurt abused her during their two-year relationship in the mid 80s. A picture of Matlin and Hurt while the two were dating. In her memoir, entitled I'll Scream Later , the actress says that the two met while making the movie Children of a Lesser God , for which Matlin won an Oscar, becoming the first deaf woman to win an Academy Award.
